After many years of LOATHING WordPress as the ubiquitous web site authoring tool (I always felt WP-based websites looked too “bloggy”…), I’m finally starting to come around, based on my experience with this blog.
My old website had pictures that didn’t represent my current business model or much of my recent photos or projects, so I started to redesign it in my old standby tool, iWeb. For me even to this day, iWeb is a great FREE pre-visualization tool in Mac OSX that allows me to drag stuff around to try and get a feel for flow. Unfortunately, it isn’t particularly good in terms of SEO optimization, at least without an external tool. In the meantime, I have gone searching for a WordPress Theme that will work with my vision of what the new site should look like.
Frankly, I still haven’t found the perfect solution.
But I’m looking.
In the interim, I’ve made my Proof Of Concept site made in iWeb live so at least my web presence is a little more up-to-date.
My goal is to keep the website itself pretty simple, timeless and informational while this Blog gives me a more immediate active voice.
I’d love to hear your thoughts, either in the comments or via email!
One thing I’ve noticed from sorting through a stack of photos going back 14 years is I wear a lot of orange!
