I had an interesting conversation earlier this week in which I likened the current state of affairs in video production across much of North America (but particularly in Vancouver, British Columbia where I have lived for the past 5 years) to being in a small wooden boat:
“Imagine you are set adrift in a small wooden boat with a good number of other individuals and the boat springs a leak.
You do your very best with the resources at hand to make repairs and generally make the boat more seaworthy. You find a fellow passenger near you looking for guidance so you teach him about basic carpentry, how to effectively plug the leaks with a combination of wood, rope and tar to make it seaworthy and watch as he takes great pride in helping to keep the boat afloat.
Then you look around the boat and see a bunch of people drilling holes in the boat.
What would YOU do?”
There are some very significant changes coming to Road Dog Media in the very near future.
I’m fundamentally changing the way I do business and with whom I choose to do that business.
I think a lot of you may be very surprised.
